Concrete Walkways and Sidewalks in Merrionette Park

Walks to the door and around the house, in plain broom finish or stamped color that ties into your patio.

The First Thing Visitors See

A front walk sets the tone for the whole house. Cracked, tilted or patched, it makes a well-kept home look tired. Level and clean, or stamped in a tone that echoes the brick, it does the opposite. We replace and install entry walks, garden paths to the backyard and garage, and sidewalk runs along the property. The plan is the same each time. Measure and photograph the existing walk. Note where it has lifted or sunk and why: roots, soft fill, water. Then the schedule. On prep day the old walk comes out, the cause underneath gets handled and a stone base is compacted. Forms get a modest tilt across the width, sending rain into the grass. On pour day, about 4 inches of concrete for a typical foot-traffic walk, thicker where a mower or cart will cross. Joints tooled at regular spacing. Finish either a broom texture for grip or a stamped and colored pattern to match a patio or driveway border. On a stamped walk, sealing follows once the concrete has cured, with grip additive mixed in for wet days. Merrionette Park's short front setbacks mean most walks can be replaced in a tight window.
